What is all this?

I've got an A block 318 not an LA, 318 head and a 360 2V manifold.

I didn't look at VIN.

If you have a head off measure the bore and stroke. A steel ruler should be able to show the difference between 3.91 and 4, and for sure 3.31 and 3.58 inches.

The guy at the engine shop gave me a bad 4.00 piston the check with. It won't fit into my cylinder walls, it's just a hair to big.

Check your stroke.

VIN says Charger, premium, 2dr sport hardtop, 360 2bbl.

It could be that the engine was swapped long ago.

This has turned out to be quit interesting and also unveiling.... From My Sources
The Block 2532630 casting was built from 1956-1966 as a 318A engine ( A Poly H.D Block if you will)....
The Head 2843675 casting was built from 1968-1974 as a 273/318 STD Iron head...
And someone exchanged it as a transplant into you 1974 Charger...

Wow.....If someone were to ask me if this combination of parts would work together? I would have told them that they where Nuts in the head to try....lol

With that said. It appears that you have got it up and running...

I know crazy isn't it. Also, the drivers Head is a 318 with the emission holes plugged.

in the late 60s i knew an old chrysler parts man. he said that at the factory the casting no was only good till they started to machine the part. my guess is that the casting could be machined into more than one part no. just my guess.

The LA block and Magnum Blocks are far more common !!!!!
