coupling body

I am upgrading my power steering box on my 1971 dodge charger 383 auto(has tilt wheel)to firm feel, per service manual i have removed the cover tangs from the coupling body, seal from body, punched out the dowel pin,and roll pin from coupling. THen the book says pull body off the shaft and shoe assembly. i still have the steering box connected on the frame .Which direction do i go with this body? There is some play toward the steering wheel but not enough to get the coupling body off. Donot want to damage steering shaft. Do i need some kind of tool(s) to do this procedure?Looks like it could stand a new shaft lower bearing adapter, is this part available and how is this replaced? gordy.
