Dash pad cover
Dash pad cover
Does anybody have any experience with those dash pad cover caps that I'm finding on Ebay. These are a cover that fits over the original dash pad. I have a 1972 Satellite with a cracked dash. I dont want to purchase this if its going to be cheesy looking and not fit properly.......... Thanks for any input!
I got one for my 68 Valiant. I never actually installed it, just test fit. It appeared that depending on how bad the cracks were, I would have to cut/sand them down a little to get the cover to sit right. It didn't look that bad though really.
i installed one on my 73 charger i pulled the whole dash out the car and did it outside for better job, i bought a clear silicone tube from local parts store and used it as adhesive for it to stick, it does come with a little tube but i like to make sure it wont come off so a bigger tube is better, i cleaned the surface making sure it was clean and smooth i applied the silicone on the cap and placed it over the dash and with some bunjee cords i tied both together tight for a good seal and left for almost a day for it to finish drying and it looks pretty cool , better than my old cracked one . before reinstalling it make sure your vin number is visible as the cap might cover it just cut it where needed .
I decide to just spend the money and buy a 'new' dash pad. wanna say i paid about $400 bucks for it, but it looks very good. I did have one small spot that didnt exactly look right once it was bolted down, but its not in a noticable spot and im not eactly going for a 100 point show winner soo...all in all i didnt think that was too bad. good luck
