Headers on a road runner

Im getting ready to drop the 383 back in my '69 Road runner and was wondering if you guys had any suggestions for headers that fit good and are resonably priced. Would love tti but they are out of my price range for the moment.

headmens are usually the best
you wont rub the ground with them, but they are a bit pricier, but its worth it

If you're trying to save some bucks check e-bay, craigslist, etc or a local wrecking yard,

I don't care for Hedman as they are a pain in the **** on my j10. But here is a list of headers that Summit Racing offers. Alot of them are at good prices too.

Personally i would not put headers on a street driven car, Mopar hp exhaust manifolds flow better then cheep headers plus they don't leak as bad as headers.

I dont know about Roadrunners but on my Charger the Headmens went on with ease vs the cheap set i got. Even still the headmens were very affordable.

It will just be a weekend cruiser/racer not a daily driver.

i just put headers on my roadrunner and it was a bitch! this was best advise which i came an old mopar guy. the left side is the problem child, once you removed the mounts and starter and got the engine jacked up you can squeeze a little botlle jack between the head and fenderwell then push the engine as far to the right as you can. mine is a 4 speed so i had to remove the clutch linkage after all that the header will slide right up from underneath the car.

I just put hookers on my small block. They are great, but sit really low to the ground. If I had to do it again I would go with TTI. They fit the best.

Thumbs up

I am running Headman headers on my '69 roadrunner 440 and as beep1969 posted, it was tough getting the driver's side on. Follow his advice that was posted on the installation. Other than getting the driver's side on, I've had no problems with the Hedman's. I do recommend you double up the header gaskets as I have and I don't think you will ever have any problem's.
