Help with Tag info

Hello everyone, Happy New Year. I just bought a 64 Polara and the only tag I can find on the car is the vehicle # tag on the inside body by the door pins/hinge. Shouldn't there be a tag under the hood/ firewall area ? Thanks.

If the hood/fender/front clip have been painted then someone could have painted over it. Depending on the condition of the vehicle, someone could have taken it off or if it was in an accident, the body panel that had it could have been replaced.

Thx Challenger for the links. With further investigation the fender tag seems MIA and the one in the door is for another car. I am going to look in the seats for a build sheet or an IBM card if they were even making them in 64. Thx again, pics soon.
