Hot Rod Or Not Rod?
Well i guess my question is a simple matter of opinion. Do i restore the charger OR do i rod the car? some days i want to restore tha car back to factory and some days i want to pull the 360 and drop in the big block. one would think "ahh it's a no-brainer big block all day" especially since i have both the motor and trans readily available, but on the other hand some of these cars restored bing some good money. especially since the car is numbers matching.Well ill leave it up to you guys. hot rod or not rod? that is the question?

A "resto-mod" would be the best solution for that car. Restored it will never have the value of what it would cost to do the project. But if you "resore it" correctly looking but with all late model conveniences, Power windows, brakes, locks, cruise. air, and an awesome sound system...At the same time make it handle and out perform a late model...What an awesome ride! Air ride suspension doesn't cost that much, and if you find a dodnor car with all the buttons, it wouldn't be that tough.
Many times we do a project only to re-do stuff later and constantly improve the car and all th ewhile it is never what we really want. Go for it the first time! Knock it out of the park. Take your time and build exactly what you want it to be.
Good luck!

I agree with resto-mod. If it wasnt a special option or package from the factory, then theres no reason not to upgrade it. Body roll? Larger front sway bar with polyurethane bushings and add a rear sway bar. Start with the rear bar first, see how it goes. Torsions bars will be decided by your final engine combo.

Ya already have a front one. Theres a bunch of folks out there that sell them. Just supension, etc. I always put a rear one on, might not be the thing for a ten second car, but mines not and I like the twisty roads! Like I said, torsion bar size and front sway bar will be decided by your final engine combo. But at least, polyurethane mounts should get what you have working better. BTW, nobody gives a crap if a 73 318 Charger is numbers matching, build what you want.

Whichever way you decide to go, make sure that you stick with it because to change your mind half way through, you'll be spending a lot more than just doing it once.
Restoring is always a good way to go, especially if you have a great solid car to start with. You can always save the BB and tranny for another car or truck that you come across.

IMHO, why would you paint a car a color you think is ugly? If you want to stay semi- stock, then use a different factory original color. Sub-lime and Sassy Grass green are my favorites.
