Those pics were taken after the paint cured. We rolled it into the sun to see what she looked like. I will post some more soon after the final sand and buffing are finished.

Havent posted about the car in awhile so here are some pics. Just picked the 383 up from Hensley Racing, and i have the tranny tore down and ready to paint and rebuild. Engine had kb pistons, eddy heads and intake, lunati cam and many other goodies.

What tranny are you going with? If its an automatic, don't paint it as the housing lets off a lot of unwanted heat to keep it alive. Painting an auto will only keep it insulated.

If its a manual, it doesn't really matter.

Your automatic transmission housing are alum. Most of the manuals that I have seen have been alum also but do not get hot like the automatics do.

I have never bought an aftermarket tranny so I wouldn't know. I would hope that they wouldn't though. If you have, or are getting, an aftermarket tranny and it is painted, call the company and ask them what type of paint they used and why they painted it.

TCI does paint their transmissions black, I was talking to them on Saturday and they had a few of them on display, didn't get close enough to see if they were aluminum or not, but it could be paint that helps pull the heat out. He did tell me though that they could build me anything I wanted, just provide the specs.

It looks good. I would run a little larger cooler or a synthetic fluid to help with any heat concerns.

cragar s/s are cool
but, the coolest thing i ever saw on a roadrunner was the roadrunners head covering the rim, and it never rotated
i think it might have been an option

Weld wheels,ya know with the eight holes, or i like just the steel wheels painted body color with dog dish hub caps
The roadrunner head was a dealer promotional item. Im not sure how it worked but it must have been connected to the spindle somehow [extra nut with the grease cap left off--not sure ? anybody know?] what year? 69 or 70?

Steel wheels with chrome lugs looks good, like on the 69 1/2 A-12s. I ran a setup like that for awhile.
