Rims and Tires
Will I have any clearance issue or rubbing issues with Magnum 500 15 x 7 rims with either 60 or 70 series radial tires?

What size are you running now? I would think that as long as you keep the height of the tire and the backspacing about the same, you should be fine. Depends on how much run you have with the fronts wheels at full turn.

A 215/60-15 would be lots shorter, 25.2" tall vs a 295/60-15 (not that it would fit on a 7" rim but just an example) 28.9".

on the car now
front: 215/70R15
rear: 235/70R15
there isnt much backspacing now, because of the cragars that are on there
the magnum rims are in more than the cragars, so will the front tires rub at all?

If I remember correctly the magnums have 4.5" backspacing? You can check to see if the difference in BS would make the tires rub. From a quick check all I could find for an original size was 7.75x14 or F70x14 (which I think is 215/70-14) So to go to your tire it would be an inch taller in the front from what was available from factory. I would venture a guess and say it should be ok, but to be sure just check to see if the difference in BS would make them rub. Or get one mounted and put it up while on lift and turn wheel both ways and see how much room you have.

Just a thought, check the ID of the rims to make sure they clear the drums/discs!
Was thinking of doing a disc conversion, but I'll need different rims as the 15's I have now would rub on the new rotors. Steel rims have a larger ID than alloy rims as the alloy's have thicker walls!
Just something to consider!
