vin and year help
vin and year help
sorry for all the questions
I was looking at the vin on the car and when decoded it reads a 1971 but with the same vin on the title the title lists the car as a 1972. Was it built in 71 for 72? Is there any differences if the car is a carry over from the 1971 year ?
1972 Plymouth satellite
thanks

On the vin, is the 6th digit a 2 or 3?the 6th vin digit represents the year of said vehicle. so if its a 2 its 1972 if 3 1973. if the vin on the dash is a 2 then at some point when the car switched hands the bmv mistakenly got the year wrong. there are many body changes from 72-73.. the bodies changed every few years back then to keep customer intrest.
The 6th number is a 1 in the vin,the vin on the title matches the car but it also has the 1 as the 6th number. When you read the title it says year-1972. Was thinking that around 72-73 most compression dropped in muscle cars. I also have the spot for the electronic ignition box on the car but it is gone and have points kinda what got me thinking. I thought the 72's came with electronic ignition but maybe Iam wrong. Not a huge deal just has been making me think some . thanks
