1965 Polara Fuel Tank

My car stalled out, i found out it was due to a clogged fuel filter. I replaced it and the car ran fine. Not 50 mile worth of driving later, it stalled out again from a clogged fuel filter. I replaced it and it runs again. I'm thinking that my fuel tank is corroding on the inside and particles are being sent to the filter, blocking it. I had it serviced about 5 years ago, but maybe it got bad again. I have two questions:

1) Would everyone agree that this is the issue? A bad fuel tank?

2) Does anybody know where I can buy a fuel tank for my 1965 Dodge Polara? I cannot find any, I guess it's not a popular enough of a car. Or are there other cars that share the same gas tank? Please don't tell me I'm going to have to get in there myself to clean it out...I'd much rather just replace it.

I can find listings for new tanks for 1964 and 1966. No 1965 so you may have to have your original redone. Try: http://www.gas-tank.com/

'65 C Body gas tank aren't reproduced. I took mine to a local radiator shop. They tanked it for a day or so and lined it with a gas tank liner. It's been trouble free for a couple years.

Recommend the following;
Fuel tank need to be pulled out and flushed out by a radiator shop. Fuel tank pick up screen needs to be cleaned out (if so equipped)- disconnect all fuel lines and flushed out- install new fuel filter to carb.
This should solve your problems. Hope this helps
Sealing the fuel tank would also be a great idea if the $$ are available, while the tank is out.
