your compression can't be too high
you'd need stronger rods, crank, etc.

With a blower you want to run ~12:1 I heard. Your lower end has a to be beefed up to handle the force along with the valvetrain. Its a lot more work than most people think. What size blower are you looking at?

We recommend 8-8.5:1. Some combos can go a bit higher, but some will require intercooling to prevent detonation. Many variables go into determining a combo. What are your goals? I mean are you looking at putting one on for a certain amount of horsepower? Just want one mostly for looks (we get that more often than you would think), or maybe just like the way they sound? I find that if I understand what someone is looking for, we can point them in the right direction a little easier.

What is a higher compression ratio needed for then? I thought it was for blowers.

no, just the opposite. More boost-more pressure so you start with low compression. 12:1 compression would blow the heads off the block!
I like the idea of twin turbos. Plenty of room under the hood of that C-body for it.

You might be thinking of NOS or something else. You don't need the compression for a blower for sure. You can get away with a little more than 8.5:1 in many cases. It really depends on a number of factors.

you always want lower compression with a blower
if not, you'll literally melt the pistons

LOLi thought about TT my 383... i think im just going to go with some new heads intake new carb and cams for now..... then this winter mabye new crank rods pistons...imma play it off as "Hey babe, i need to paint the engine block...and in order to do this....i need to take it apart" and alas ILL forget where i laid CERTian goodies...and need...newer ones LOL

but in reality TT and SC been on my mind, but i dont know what the 727 is ca[pable of handling as its an automatic This will be my first AUTOMATIC car im tackling and older car at that so im a little dumb about autos....

i just had the tranny rebuilt though,So i dont know if TT or ST or SC is an option? id be doing all the grunt work if its turbo i go with, im not looking for nothing crazy just something different,Thats if these trannys are capable of handling this?"
