Help advice on two things. much appreciated

Got two new problems with my 1969 fury 318. The temp gauge was shooting up at start up and then back down so I change the coolant sensor and the thermostat and fixed that problem. Now just recently.

1. Fan is really loud when the gas is pressed. Going down the highway Sounds like an airplane. Going to change the fan clutch. Got a standard duty thermal.

Never changed a fan clutch. Tutorial? Any advice on the removal/replacement.

2. Harmonic balancer is wobbling. I tried to tighten it didn't make a difference . Wobbling enough to make belts squeal if you get on it. Looks like the rubber is cracking. I know everything is pressed on balancers/rubber isolator etc.. so where can I get a new assembly? local parts stores don't carry anything.

Just 4 bolts at the water pump pulley... Loosen the fan shroud.. pull the assm. out... Swap the clutch and re-install....

Napa auto Parts can order the dampner for you.... Or Partstrain on line...
Jeggs or summit.....

It is more like 8 bolts 4 to unbolt it from the water pump & 4 bolts to unbolt the fan.. Easy job Just loosen the bolts while the belts are tight

Can I just remove the four bolts holding the clutch to the fan and bolt the new one on or do I need to remove the fan from the water pump too?

I See summit has some. What all would i need to order? I thought it was the harmonic balancer/rubber isolator and you bolt your crank pulley on it. Correct?
Does the Harmonic balancer come with the rubber isolator?

I can grab the pulley in front and it will wiggle forward ans back because of the rubber. Is that normal or is that the reason it is wobbling. Never really had to deal with the harmonic balancer before so I really don't know.

Sounds like the damper is no good...Replace it..

Also If it is wabbling on the crankshaft... You might need to install a repair sleeve at the same time to repair it.... If that does not fix it, you will need a reconditioned crankshaft installed....

If you take the fan bolts out and don't remove it from the water pump how are you going to get the fan out/off the shaft... Remove it from the water pump and change the fan to new clutch on the bench... Then reinstall it on the car... Make sure you put the fan on correctly maybe you should mark the fan on the inside/towards engine...Bill
