OEM intake manifold?

Hey Guys, Can anyone tell me if a Mopar CASTING NUMBER, 1851898 intake would be any good to put on my 1968 Newport 383? One thing I would like to do before spring is to swap the 2bbl for a good 4bbl setup.I really don't have the money to spend on new stuff. What would be a good used carb to fit on this stock car?Are the old Carter AFB's any good or should I look for a used Holley? Also, what about a Carter Thermoquad #6-2472....there is one on Ebay for $50?

First that is not a Thermoquad manifold.. A good carter AVS carb would be great...Are you sure it is a 383 manifold?? Picture makes it look wide.

I found a list that says it is from a 1959-60 383 4bbl. A later design might be better????

that is a 1959-1960 383-4 manifold. you might have trouble putting an A / C bracket on it. i am not sure but i think i have seen some manifolds that have a machined spot for the A / C bracket and some do not. but check it out. all so on that engine . the 2 bbl and 4 bbl use different pull cable and trans linkage. mostly the length. if you use a 2 bbl cable on 4 bbl it will bind up cause it isnt pulling stright. edit ; and the cable bracket is different. just check out a parts book.

I'm sure the intake will fit as long it is for a 383... The carb mounting flange might take a little work to figure out what will fit on it best....
And getting all the linkage alignment rite takes some attention. Like that was mentioned before...

looks like a 1971 only. and said to have amoung the best stock air flow. uses the squre bore bolt pattern. I.E. GOOD. but DO use anti-sieze compound on the choke heat stove bolts. just my idea.

YOU CAN NOT interchange "low block" and "raised block" intakes.

"Low blocks" are 361-383-400

"Raised blocks" are 413 -426 wedge, -440, and the oddball early long stroke 383

You have a "low block" you need 361-383-400 manifold

Like 440 said...You cant use a 440 intake on a 383... It dose not fit...

Not hard to find... You just need one for the 361-383-400 Low Deck...
