340 & 727

That's a real tough question to answer, but here's a few thoughts
First, when compared to Chivvys (small blocks), there just were NOT that many 340s made, to start with, so just FINDING one that is complete and rebuildable is a find
Next, due to the explosion a few years ago in the collector market, and things like the 'www and eFray, there's been a tremendous demand for things like 340s
I'd say that if you find the combination you just mentioned, and it's close to where you live, you should seriously consider. They aren't going to land in your lap everyday.
One thing you might consider, is do you REALLY REALLY need a 340? 360s can be great performers, and are much much easier to find, as there were many more made. Except for the pan and the external balance (flywheel) just about everything about the 360s are bolt on replacements for 340s
Do you have an "original 340" car that you are trying to restore, or do you simply think you want a 340?
