HELP - No Start on my 72 Challenger

New to the Forum so I hope I do not break the rules

I have a 1972 challenger with a modified 440 6 pack. I brought the car form Utah this spring, did not do a lot of driving due to work, but the car was a nice show piece in the garage and started with no issues.

Several months ago it refused to start several car guys have looked at it but no luck. It is not fuel supply. We have nailed it down to the distributor is getting no spark. The car has a msd control box, MSD Coil and MSD distributor with magnetic pickup and a Painless wiring harness.

Electronics are out of my league so I hope someone can point me in the right direction. I did try putting a regular old style stand up coil in place of the msd and it may no difference. One friend familiar with MSD looked at it and we found that the engine was slighty magnetized, after taking apart the distributor we found that the magnetic pickup had rusted and the fillings shorted against the distributor casing. Once we cleaned up the pickup, we still had a no start.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Winter is closing in on me here in Eastern Canada and would like to get it mobile before that.

I have Pics I can include

All the fuses Good?
Got power to the MSD Box?

Unplug the coil wire from the dist. mount about 1/8 to 1/4 inch from ground...

Unplug the Dist. Connector.... Turn the key to the run position..... Use a jumper wire to jump the box side of the connector... (Touch..un-touch...Touch...Un-Touch...) DO NOT LEAVE HOOKED TOGETHER !!!!!

This should make the box spark?????
