Need title for registration?
Well I checked out the car, it's a legit '73 Runner.
Made my downpayment so now I'm buying it.
Only problem is now... lol
Inspection and Registration say the VIN is RM31P3A, not RM21
So I need to know, in Rhode Island do I need a title to register a car over 10 years old? If so then if the title doesn't read "RM21P3A" I'm screwed, am I correct?

in michigan as along as you have a tittle for a car your good to go if the vin dosent match the tittle you could run into prob with the law but as long as you dont try selling the car you should have no problem

Well something is funny about it, apparently the insurance company registered the car, he didn't look it over or anything, possibly he put RM31 by mistake? Or it could be that in Massachusetts, instead of 21 it was put as 31, because the fender tag was off the car at the time, 31 would indicate that the body type is "Unknown"
