Torqueflite 727 questions

Hi folks!

Is there an upgrade available, making the Torqueflite 727 even stronger and capable of handling more than 500hp/450lb?? I couldn't find anything yet...

Thx

LOL. Don't worry about it.

There are plenty of parts out there to build up the 727 BB and SB trannies. It's all based off of how much you want to build it up and how much $$$ you're willing to drop.

Hey, long time no hear! I added some pics in my gallery, hope there'll soon be some more...
The stock torqueflite will do with my 383, but I still consider to get a bigger one sooner or later. I'm thinking of a 496, 540 or even a 572ci engine...
It's just an idea right now, but it's necessary to do some research and make sure what else must be done before even thinking about these monsters!

I have to confess that I don't know much about auto transmissions at all!! I'm wondering which parts actually have to be replaced in order to make it stronger? Is it the valvebody, torque converter, ...or simply everything LOL??

That was one of my fears...wouldn't it be easier to get whole new tranny?

That it would. I would look into a TCI unit. They build some pretty good quailty units from what I have heard and read about.

Thx, I had a look on their website. They talk about heavy duty parts, but without any max hp/torque ratings...I think I should just them an email!

I would. While you at it, you might want to get in contact with Hughes and B&M and see what they have to offer.

Just looked @ their sites...both talk about the Chrysler A518 tranny. It was first built in the 90's, so I gotta find out if it would fit in a Chally!

It has the same bolt pattern as the 727 I believe, it just has OD. The came in the trucks behind the LA 318 and LA 360 motors.

Sounds great man! Which one do you have, the Super Street Fighter?

A friend of mine has a 5 speed Keisler, I just wrote them an email and asked for their 4-speed auto stage 3...it's rated up to 650lb-ft of torque. I'm curious about the price...

i used to work at a tranny shop and saw numerous tci parts that were bad i will never use any of their products. now i know that a lot more people use tci and don't have any problem its just my opinion as a junior member not to use them.

yes it is a super street fighter,i have had good luck with it ,but then again i don't go out and race it every weekend, its a driver on weekend and to some car shows, but i drive it hard sometimes. but everybody has there own opinon on diffrent products, there are many part i will not use on my own cars or on my clinits cars ,so do your home work and use what you like best. good luck . keep me posted on your car .Anthony

Ryan and Anthony...that's research! It's nice to hear different opinions, so I can get an idea what's best for my own project!
The Keisler A41 Automatic Stage 3 seems to be of high quality and quite strong. It's @ US 5200$, no real bargain ;-) I keep on looking!
