Fury GT

Hi all I just wanted to ask if anyone knows of some good places to read up on the 70-71 Plymouth Fury GT's.

I have always liked these and in the past few years have really wanted to own one.

How are the parts issuies with them?

I dont know if the after market vendors have done anything or are even looking to do anything.

I have not seen one forsale on ebay in awhile now. I also like the 70 Chrysler as well.

I remember reading a few years back that a few six pack cars where made is this true?

Well those Furys are C bodies and could be had with a /6 all the way up to a 440. Parts for the engines and trans are easy to get, Body parts I'm not sure about. I always liked the hideaway headlights on the GT models.

Check all forums that C bodies that you can find.

There were a handful of V code c-barges in 70, i think the official count was around 6, maybe less. There is one guy out there with 2 of those.

That's a good question.
I just recently met a guy, from Norway, at a "Fury" site on Facebook who is currently working on a '70 Fury GT.
I'll send him a note and see if he can shed some light.

Rick, thank for inviting me in !!!

Plymouth had to performance models for its full size line up in 1970 and that was the Sport Fury GT and the Sport Fury GT light, the S/23.
When the GT could be deliverd with 350 HP 440 engine or the 390HP 440+6 (61 was made with that option) only the S/23 could be deliverd with various engines from the 230HP 318 SB to the 330HP 383 four barrell BB.
The GT was made in 666 ex. only in 1970 and had the option code A52 and the S/23 was made in 689 ex. only and had the option code A51.
In 1971 the S/23 was discontinued leaving the GT as the only performance full size Plymouth.
Now the 440 sported 375HP.

I have always been a B-body guy with 69RR's and GTX as my favorites but got intersted in these big performance C's when i saw a 1971 GT on MoPar nats in Columbus,Ohio in 1999.
I have now a a S/23 with the 383 four barell engine with bucket seats and console and the colour code FY6 Citron gold and a 2 tone green interior and the GT's colour code is FT6 Dark tan metallic with champagne vinyl top and have a 2tone tan bench seat interior with column shift.
Both need resto but the S/23 is rolling every summer.

If you like to know more about these cars take a look at Jake Holloways site :
