All in all I am happy with it... i have some stuff located, just having to gather the funds... Still have a 400/727 I can use, or a 440/727. But for now the Slant 6 runs fine. I am going to put it back to a std tranny if i leave it a slant car, it had been converted to an auto, but the pedal assembly is still intact, just have to find the eq bar bellhousing tranny flywheel etc...

I am not a fan of yellow cars, and I dont know what it is about this car but I wouldn't change the paint or scheme one little bit.....
I have a few more pics but wont bore ya with em in the post... but here is the slide show link from "bucket"

Yep it was given to me... A friend of my oldest son left it behind when he moved, the master cyl was out and he isnt very mechanically inclined, but a long story short landlord was going to have it hauled of to the squish yard, and my son called and ask if i wanted it.... hooked up trailer, grabbed wench and rescued it.... got it to my place, poured a splash of gas in carb and drove it off trailer using the emergency brake... But yes it was free.... master cyl was 14.99, lost title fee cost 5.25, so i have a whopping 19.99 in it plus sales tax...

Saved from the junkyard! That's what I like to hear. Were you able to get a title even though the old one was lost? I didn't know that could be done. A lot of guys would be interested in learning what you have to do to get it.

Oh CRAP!!! havent checked this post in a loooonggg while. But to answer your question, in Texas yes, all needed is for the registered owner file for a lost title. As in one of the posts up ^^^^^^^ there it just costs $5.25 here. They just void the first original title (the document no.) and issue a new title. It usually is less than 10 days for new title to show up in the mail box.
I would think all or most or some states have the same, as to cost and ease I wouldn't know. (Reasonings behind why I think that is, what happens after a "natural" disaster, ie: floods, wildfire tornado, hurricane.)

Although states do have some really strange laws.

Just last week I bought a Geo Tracker with a clear Indiana Title. I went to the BMV and the clerk discovered that it had a Missouri salvage title in 1997 and they missed that when the previous owner titled it. So now I have to forfeit my normal title for a rebuilt title.
