Mexican Spec 1980 Chrysler Super Bee

Hi friends
I thought you might like to see a Mexican Spec 1980 model Super Bee.
It is hard to see but the front is from Plymouth and the rear from Dodge.
Under the hood is a 360 with a few modifications.
This one is an automatic and does have factory air, which is rare for a Mexican car.

Let me know what you think of it.

Wow, very nice. Unusual and interesting. Do you know how many were produced?

It is really hard to say.

Records like that were not kept.

I am sure somebody out there knows, but I wouldn't know how to find them.

A google search turns up nothing.

The US cars are well documented. The Mexican cars not so much.

Very interesting. I’m assuming low numbers. First I’ve ever seen!

In 1977 the Mexican Super Bee was an A body, basically a /6 4 speed then in 1980 - 81 they were also built from the Mexican Dart an F body with a 360. In 82 or 83 the Mexican market for another GT type body but I can't remember what it was called.

Here's the 83 Dart I was thinking of 360 4 speed.

1977 Super Bee

low mileage Dart 360 automatic, Plymouth was never sold in Mexico. but the Volare name was a Dodge.

Here's the Mexican 1980 Volare , I'm not sure if it is Dodge or Chrysler but it's a cross between Fbody front and Mbody rear.

The last Super Bee on the A body was in 1976 which is when the Duster was discontinued.

1977 the Super Bee was on the F Body platform.

This car was called the Magnum, not Super Bee.

That is not a 1977 model though. The last year for the A body was 1976. I do have pictures of some 1977 Super Bees and they were on the F body platform.

Do you have other pictures of the blue car?

I can't remember where I was reading it but the 77 was an Abody in Mexico. Built on on the Dodge Valiant body. Just because the Abody was done in 76 in the US doesn't mean it was done in the rest of the world. Sweden produced the Abody as well past 1976. The F body was produced in Mexico in 1981 after production ended 1n 1980 in the US.

I live in Mexico and look at cars for sale every day.

I have never seen a 1977 Duster or Dart on the A-Body platform.

I don't know where you read that but it is not true.
