1950 Chrysler New Yorker Newport

Hello,

I figured I should post so that way I can ask information for help later.

I just saved a 50 New Yorker Newport (2 Door Hardtop) from being sold off into a demolition derby. They guy purchased it and decided that it was to much work and then couldn't sell it.

The engine was seized from them pulling the spark plugs and then leaving them out for an unknown amount of time. After pulling the head and spraying a good penetrating oil and letting it sit for a few hours we where able to free the engine.

Going to be looking for some parts and maybe someone on here has a lead. I am looking for a grill and front bumper. Condition is not as high as getting the parts since I will have to chrome some of the car.

Also anything I really should do specific to this car to bring it back to life. Waiting on the spark plug leads, coil and oil filter before I attempt to fire it up.

From my research and understanding it is a 2 door coupe. The unusual thing was they just bolted a hardtop on the convertible body. Gather they only made 2800 of them in 1950.

Just waiting on parts and can see if she runs and transmission works. If not she may be getting a new tranny and or engine. Though part of me would like to keep the straight 8.
