1960 383 Core Plug issue "HELP!!!!"

Hi looking for some advice on what to do with a cracked core plug sealing ridge. I Have done so much work to this block and worried it may be a total loss. It has shallow core plugs so I'm concerned it will leak when engine is assembled. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have attached two pics one with a good plug and one that is botched. Thinking of maybe grinding down a newer style plug to the shallow depth.

Can you tap it and tread a plug in? Otherwise use red LockTight on it, I've never had to do it but I've heard it works.

Hi Iowan, After some additional research I went ahead and purchased a new core plug kit and decided to go the loctite route, I found loctite 450 that seems to be specifically designed for core plugs. Going to give that a try but will be months before I find out if it leaks or not. Starting to assemble the engine after I perform a final block wash, install plugs and so on. Thanks for the reply!
