Speedo problem, 95 Ram

95 ram. The speedo doesnt work till I get to about 55, then it shoots to 77 and stays there till I go below 55mph, then back to 0. The odometer is still turning even when the speedo reads 0. According to the manual, they are both driven off the speed sensor in the trans. So, did the speedo itself just take a ****, or could it be a sensor issue? Kinda want to keep the original odometer, it has 242,000mi and counting.

sounds like there may be a problem with the head itself. is the odometer accurate? i dont know if those odometers are tamper proof or not.

Scotty,

Head to a junk yard/salavage yard and pick up a good one. It doesn't sound like a sensor issue to me as the odometer would stop working too.
