wheels???

hey guys i tried to put a set of 17 inch wheels off a 2005 diesel on my 3/4 ton 78 pire wagin today and the inside rubbed the toie rods... does anyone know what /where to get bigger wheels that will fit??? i have 4.10 gears and would like to put bigger tires to help out the rear end on the interstate and higher speeds... is there is classified section for wheels???

The TRE rubbed against a 17" wheel? You have a D44 HD in the front end? 8 lug? A 16" wheel came stock on those trucks I believe so a 17 should be fine unless the backspacing is too deep or the wheel is too wide.

I was surprised also ... the 16s have a deeper dish than the factory 17s ... the wheels looked kicked *** and sat the truck up higherbut I will jus find some taller tires to put on 16lift inch wheels

The 2005 Dodge has an offset of around +40 mm
The 1978 truck uses 0 offset wheels

this means that is you used a -40mm offset they would stick out (outboard) by 40mm

when you tried to use the +40 wheels they were then tucked in by 40mm causing your rub.

the offset may be stamped on the back of the wheel ET40 (or whatever it is)

Cant use this wheel without a spacer, and I wouldn't really recommend that.

98 2500

who can help... I bought a 98 2500hd 4X4 .. It had 16's on it right now... does anyone know how big I can go without modifying... and also I'd like to hear some comments about possible mod's to fit a bigger set on.
