what can i put on it for *ahem* "off road use" to make it more fun that i can replace for its "on road use" once a year?

 

tim, you missed my drift. i'm using on the street and it needs to pass emissions inspection. i'm looking for something like the mopar performance computer so i can swap it back as needed. i hope to never have a need for the skid plates! the other things are nice but i also need to be able to fit into street parking without denting anyone's roof ;-)

 

5.2 auto 2wd. tow package

no lift kits here. there are too many tight spaces i have to park in. i mainly just want more hp.

 

ny and california are a pain. i can drive a new huge suv all over town and the state is happy. driving and old six is getting harder and harder to meet the limits. i just had my 90 Olds done today. every year almost every car i bring there has emissions problem and fails. i don't drive much. in the past i have resorted to fuel additives and a long hard run to get them to pass. this year i decided to try a different shop and low and behold, it passed by quite a wide margin. the NOX reading always seem to be high on all the inspections he does. i now have a new shop to go to :-)

so yeah, it's tough in southern ny because of the feds. upstate has no emissions testing other than to verify that the equipment is there.

i think it may have a posi. (are we going to get flamed for not saying "sure grip"?)
it has towing gears 3.9 ?

i did edelbrock? "tuned" exhaust on my 88 v6 and it was a nice improvement. the stock y pipe had a section by the oil pan that was flatted for clearance so that was no shock. i'll drive it for a while until i feel that i'll keep it a long time and do some work.

 

these aren't headers they're just tube manifolds. things seem to have been cheaper 15 years ago,
