Drag Pak Progress
Seems like this is taking a lot longer that the last step... But looking at the calendar I have only had it back app 6 weeks so guess that isn't so bad... Wiring and piping is 90% done.. All that's left is under the hood and have to get engine first... Front suspension is done... Rear suspension parts are shipped already and should be here this week... If that is the case should get her back on the ground by Aug 6th... Then re-install front fenders and doors engine and tranny and should make some noise.... Hopefully test N tune around Sept 1 ... Plan to run on Dyno before we install into car... Get EFI tuned on dyno... Much easier there..... Pictures as of yesterday afternoon......

Thanks Guys for all the good words... When we get this thing running I want to be able to make as many passes as I possibly can before the end of this year... That way come the 2011 season here in Division 2 I'll be ready.....

Damn man. I cant wait to see some vids..
There was a guy running one of the drag pak cars at the nationals in July. Low 10s. and it was all white.
Probably already somewhere on here, but how were you able to purchase one? Random drawing?

Hey Guys, Long story short.... Cars were introduced at Mopar Nationals in Denver August 08.... Rules were that everyone that wanted one to apply with an application from Mopar .com... This app was to be faxed into Mopar by local Dodge parts department... From these applications cars will be delivered .... The order of the cars was the order the app was faxed in... Mine is #43.... So my app was #43 received by Mopar. They did not tell you anything at all about the cars during the bankrupcy or the government loans or any of that BS.... In July 09 ( I think) i found out that I was "on the list" to get #43.... Production was very slow at first due to getting bodies from Brampton(all Challengers made there) to the production facility in Lavonia... I FINALLY got my car November 23, 2009 I have been working on it since... I see what I think is the "light at the end of the tunnel" and I hope its not the train!!!!!!!!

Progress has slowed down.... We have our first screw up. The only way our rear tires will fit is with 1/2" wheel spacers. And with this we only have 5/16" clearance on the inside front of the slick. My chassis builder says that is plenty of clearance.. I don't think so!!!! And neither do any of my other racing friends. So needless to say we are having a discussion about this... Glad I havn't paid him in full yet!!! I still do have some leverage but not as much as I should have... My idea to fix this is remove the axel tubes and put in tubes that are 1" longer. Then I would have all 3/4" of clearance and no wheel spacers.. The showdown will happen next week... Somebody is changing those axel tubes... May be another chassis guy but the ARE going to be changed....

Just a quick up date.... Finally go the longer axel studs and the wheel spacers that my chassis guy said we had to do to fix the problem. I agreed to TRY this approach. He is just avoiding the issue. He or another chassis guy is going to change those tubes.. But anyway, I put them all on last night and FINALLY got her on the ground!!!!! Man that car has shrunk!!!! Of course its not sitting with a spit attached on both ends as it has been for almost 10 months... I had forgotten how good it looked on the ground... I'm going to get some photos today.. Planning on getting it outside and hopefully getting some pictures in the sun... Should look great!!!! But then its back inside and on the lift and removing the rear to get the tubes replaced..
Also talked to my engine guy and he is scheduling to run my engine at his shop next week. Then to the dyno. We can run it and make sure we don't have any leaks and also do some tuning. At least enough to get it to run.. Then we will have less time on the dyno....
