2010 JEEP Sahara

I'm looking at this JEEP sahara and found out that it has the 3.8L V6. Just wanted to know how good this motor is. I know that the 4.0L is awesome but unsure about the 3.8L. Thanks for the information.

They haven't had the 4.0 motors in them in a while now.

I haven't heard anything bad about the 3.8L motors yet, but like everything else, as long as they are taken care of, they shouldn't give you any problems.

I work at a jeep ram chrysler dodge dealership... I dont see alot of engines being replaced but I am not going to lie, I see more of these than any... something about the bottom ends liking to spin bearings. done like 3 shortblocks in the last 2 months.

its really quite the turd, it would be nice if they had a diesel option... but that would make too much sence for the public, why would anyone want torque and fuel economy in an offroad vehicle?

above all its a taste thing, if a guy likes italian sports cars he is not ever going to be interested in a wrangler, but if its your cup of tea there is not really anything else like it.

Maybe a little late to offer advise, but the 3.8l sucks compared to the 4.0l. the 3.8 is a minivan engine. wait a year they are looking at replacing the 3.8l and even may off a diesal option.
