Local Street Digs (video)

Went out to the local digs on Saturday night and held my own against an H/C ZO6, but lost my **** against a 650hp BMW M6

That being said, there's still a bit left in the old bird still

I was running full street pressure (32psi), no burnout, timing pulled back to 30* for pump gas and had a trunk full of junk (tool box, 2 spares, air tank, track prep equipment, etc.)

Would love to see what she'll do with max timing and a little weight loss

Snake, Looks like a lot of fun... Like you said WTF that BMW was quick.. Yeah you never leave your tools in the trunk on race day...And I would have liked to see that too... I think the bird would have had him... The only fall back is then you would need them to fix something... So damned if you do damned if you don't...If it was for fun it doesn't matter anyway...Bill

i did know that. BUT he knew racing could go no where being illegal. if you want to illegal race, dont whine and cry from what people call you. now if you want go out on a unused road by your self, and time your car, i am fine with that. but when you put others in harms way iam NOT fine with that.

I couldn't care less what others call me and you don't see me whining

Is it illegal, sure, but we're not running up and down a busy road here

We actually go out of our way to find desolate spots where it's well lit with zero traffic

This particular spot goes on for miles with no cross roads and in the rare chance that a car actually made it down this road, you'd see them coming 10 minutes in advance opcorn:

This place is called Street n Strip, right??

1950 was NOT the first nationals. it was the first legal drag race. the first NHRA nationals was in 1955 greatbend KS. i was there. now bob i know you have seen me post that before. if you are old enough to build a race car then you know the risk. if you do it in a place where no one else can get hurt i am fine with that. but if you need help you might have to weight a while. but what are you teaching your children?

Ok... Yaaaa One time.(Must have been a fluke).... Then the old man (Wally) got out of that dump and took the circus to Okieville in 1956.... He thought his home State might be better (Not one of his better ideas ether). Then he just kept moving it until it wound up at Indy...

With all that kind of B.S.... Now you know why we have (OutLaw Street Races) in Oklahoma !!!!!!

What are you trying to say Moe..... I'm setting a bad (Teaching) example!!!!!

after first NHRA nationals the local car club in greatbend KS did NOT like the way NHRA ran things. how do i know? i have talked to one of the club members. he is even older than i. they had a race next year. but it was AHRA. NHRA was NOT invited back, thats what happened. i will predict this street racing will come to no good. mark my words.

well i cant prove much. i checked my 01 dak it does 0-60 in 11.7 sec. thats about 18. sec 1/4. you do have a point my dad would and did take any challenge on the street but he seldom went any faster than 60. but his 300 J 500 in max wedge blew off a few comaros. the cool thing was that it had been shaved. so if you didnt know what Chrysler 300 J looks like, you are at a loss as to what just spanked your car.

Looks like good clean fun to me Snake nice pull !!. It did appear to be in the middle of no ware. I think most of us would enjoy a run or two . I sure would and have ! This type of thing use to happen up here back in the 80's after midnight but those days are long gone . I'm lucky enough to have a strip 45min away so it's best to use it for everyone . I'll still run a 60' at light or a slight run on the highway but no real street planed runs.
