Las Vegas Nationals

With only 8 rounds of racing left this year, The NHRA traveling show heads to Las Vegas on October 29 thur November 1 st.

In my opinion several of the championships will be decided in Vegas.

In Top Fuel, Tony Shumaker has only a five round lead on the top five. I expect he will clinch in Vegas....

Funny car is the class that has the most potential to go to Pomona to decide the champion... Robert Height and Ashley Force are neck and neck. The rest of the top 6 are only 86 points behind.... With 20 points per round and special points in qualifying this will be the best race for sure!!!!!!!

Pro Stock is a virtual lock for Mike Edwards. He would REALLY have to have problems not to win here... His closest competitior is Greg Anderson and he is 128 points behind.... This will be Edwards first championship and a well deserved one... He has dominated this class all year......

NHRA.com has a link to the PA system at each event. If you are a member you can listen to all days of an event. If not everyone can listen to both Saturday and Sunday live. Also next weekend NHRA.com will introduced their live timing page. This will list driver reaction times, all the numbers all the way down the track and who wins and by how much. So listen on the autocast and watch on the live timing and scoring. Not as good as tv or seeing the actual pictures but better than nothing... I look at the detailed run schedule and listen in to my favorite classes... Hope this helps... This is the closest to being able to "watch" as I know.... Mack

Changes in Schedule for Las Vegas Nationals

NHRA has announced a scheduling change for Super Stock and Stock class eliminations at the upcoming NHRA Las Vegas Nationals, Oct. 29-Nov. 1 at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Due to a total pre-entry in excess of 700 cars, including more than 130 entries each in Super Stock and Stock, it has become necessary to run Super Stock and Stock class eliminations Thursday. All Super Stock and Stock competitors will be given one qualifying run Thursday morning, and round one of class eliminations is scheduled for approximately noon Thursday to avoid the potential of cold temperatures in the evening.

Tech and registration will still be open all day Thursday
