DOE and IPN

I enjoy thinking of something new or coming up with a way to help resolve an "opportunity for improvement" (a.k.a. problem), especially when an Engineer that is get paid 2 to 3 times more than me didn't think of it. I just hate all the leg work that comes with it.

At the same time though, having your name on a patten (spelled wrong I'm sure) is pretty cool.

Redirecting water flow pressures to increase/decrease the water cooling capacities of each circuit (eight of them) for the current furnace setups that we have.

Of course that was just one idea. I've got another one that has to do with the process of melting/solidifying poly silicon in one of our furnaces.

Everything takes time, you can only change one variable every test, timing is everything, people are needed who can understand the test and comprehend the importance of doing it right and not having rookie mistakes, etc..

So here I am at work again on a weekend plugging away at this DOE (design of experiment). I'm now getting pushed not only by my boss to get this done and post the results and what needs to happen to correct the issues we are having, but also by some of the big wig running the company.

At least the paychecks are looking good with all this OT.
