Electrician with 20 yrs experience. Worked 10 yrs in residential, commercial and industrial construction and service. Last 10 yrs repair and maintenance of automated assembly systems including PLC and programming and repair of robots and robotic welding, handling and sealing systems used in automotive assembly. When I need something done I read a book and do it. A little rough at welding though. But given enough heat, wire and time I can make metal stick together. Not pretty, but nothing that a grinder cant fix! Laced my own wheels for my chopper by reading two paragraphs in the manual and just doing it. Knowledge is power....library cards are free.....there are NO excuses!

I'm with you Scott. I like to read and jump right in. Worst case I pay someone to finish where I left off. I manage a quality control and R and D lab.

I do everything I can myself on my cars. Sometimes I enlist the help of one of my teenaged sons for holding things or whatever. I've got some knuckle-busting friends I can call when I need help, and of course, I have you all. I do have a really great mechanic for the new cars, and he's hoping he gets to build a 413 when I find the right one.

In a nutshell, yes, I do.

not much .
we have a construction wide policy that weekly you get money that you can't touch till you get laid off , after just over 2 1/2 years I've got about $7000 in mine . but you get taxed pretty hard also . i have 7 weeks holiday pay up my sleeve also , but i don't really want to use them just yet . hey USS Essex is in town at the moment .

I am the business/consumer relations manager at SMRE Performance. I don't have a fancy Mopar yet, the one in my avatar is the "house car". I drive a PT Cruiser, but that doesn't count. Maybe someday, I will have time and $$ at the same time.

about 80% of the engines we do are supercharged with a ProCharger. We do a few turbos, a couple other blowers, plenty of N/A and a couple NOS deals.

Here's some of what we do: http://www.youtube.com/kat12979

I drive a semi, bulk tanker that hauls portland {used in concrete}. Used to be a welder/fabricator. Got some parts I welded that ended up on a B-1 bomber. Worked on a big project for Disney World when I was livin' in FL. I rebuild carbs on the side, mostly Q-jets. Have done some auto-body and mechanic work back in the '80's.
