Should 350 Chevys stay in GM products

For me this debate really started about 15 years ago when I called a car dealer in LA to ask him why he was selling a 58 Fury with a 472 cubic inch Caddy motor?

I explained to him that he had effectively killed the value of a rare car with that strange new engine. He was a pretty good salesman because he told me to buy it and swap the Caddy motor out. In hindsight I wish I had done that-the car was going for about 4500.

Anyhow-this debate is getting more fired up and now we're seeing a backlash against things like the crate Chevy 350-here are some thoughts on that issue...

What about that old, old ad.... "Chrysler Motor Corporation would like to thank Ford and Chevy for using OUR motors in YOUR race cars" with pictures of some of the Funny cars sitting there?

And how about an old Hemi into any other brand? Is that OK?

Guess there's no substitute for success.I show remember 392 Hemis being really popular swaps when I was really, really young-believe it or not they were fairly easy and cheap to find.

Agreed. But people use 350 SBC's because they're so widely supported.

what a waste of a good engine stand, the backyard behind the bushes supports them just fine!

or you can be like my dad and put one at the end of the driveway in hopes some will pick it up,

I think that people that never post here otherwise, should stop rolling grenades into the room regarding pointless topics. Unless the ultimate goal is to get someone to click on their site to see more of their pointless dribble.
