How to remove stock stereo.?

How to remove stock stereo.?

A friend of mine is back to his 1998 Dakota after a long time. Now he is looking to install a new stereo system. Need your help to perform this task. Just wondering how that front panel comes off so he can remove the stock stereo and install the new one. He wants to complete this task without any damage.

The cover just pops right off. If the cover also covers the cluster, which I think it does, then he will need to remove the two screws that are right about the cluster, remove the kick panel on the driver's side, remove the two screws holding it in down there, and remove the fuse cover at the end and remove one screw from there. After that, it should just pop right off.

At least that is what I had to do with my 2000 Dakota. The 2001 model year got changed.
