Hello guys , I have a 1970 Dodge charger with a 440 engine that has been garage for 20 years before it was garage the engine was rebuilt trying to see what would be the best way to create a Sunday driver. Get the 440 going are do a late model swap. I am not trying to build a race car just a dependable car. I would appreciate the feedback thanks

Welcome. If money is not a problem I’d go modern Hemi, it’s been done, there are kits available and no surprises. The 440 would be easier with no fabrication and with a mild cam and small carb would make a great Sunday driver.
We are in the midst of putting a 5.7 Hemi in my 1970 Coronet, and the deciding factors were, got the engine for free, and EFI drivability. Our old cars had 375-390 hp with lots of cam and carbs, this one makes the same power from 345 cubic inches. We are adding air conditioning and some modern electronics to have a car the Wife and I can jump in and go anywhere. My hot rod bumping around town with discomfort, noise and smell days are over. We also wanted an all OEM engine I can go to any auto supply store and get parts for.

The late Hemi will get easily twice the fuel mileage of the 440 with the same power.
