84 prospector engine swap

Hi I'm going to be putting a 440 and 727 tranny from a 75 motorhome into my 84 dodge prospector. Was wondering what issues I might run into, what should I use for a transfer case, will I need any suspension work, will my axles hold up, best intake/carb combo that will be good for towing/daily driver and any other info thanks

It's a 318 4wd but not sure what the tranny or transfer case is, the tranny needs to be replaced either way. Is it possible that the transfer case from the truck will work with the 440/727?

If the truck has a 727 in it now you should be able to add the output shaft and tail housing to your motorhome trans, but replacing output shaft means complete disassembly and reassembly with the 4WD output shaft.

The rest of the drivetrain should be ok for the 440, you will need motor mounts and brackets also a larger radiator and possibly an oil pan.

Ok thanks, do you know a good intake and carb combo that won't kill my gas, I was thinking 2barrel with a mechanical secondary but not sure about intake or which brands do better for a reasonable price

You don't say what year the motor is, but if it has a thermoquad it can be made to work very well.

Late 70's 440's came with a thermoquad in most applications. A good carb when it is working right...

Dual plane for a stock or mild motor used for towing and a 750 cfm vac. secondary carb.
