1969 Barracuda notchback restomod
I have a 1969 notchback with zero rust. Has black vinyl top and 318. I am looking for what your dream restomod might be on this car.
I currently am thinking of the following but input could definitely sway me.
- gen 3 5.7 or 6.1 hemi.... I have access to both but the 5.7 is virtually free (80K miles) and the 6.1 is $7K but zero miles
- A 500 tranny rebuilt
- 1.06 torsion bars and new set up in front, bogesen steering box .... considering Rack & Pinion but don't want to start a debate on this one because I see lots of opinions here. If someone has put in a rack that successfully keeps a tight turning radius then share
- 4 link rear suspension ... I like the triangle bar set up but not sure about interference with exhaust
- 17 inch vintage craigar SS with Nitto tires. 275 50 on back and 225 45 on front
- 67 hood and inserts ( have one)
- 68 header bar and grills (I am not so hot on the look of 69 hood and grill)
- move my 69 hood turn indicator lights to the 67 hood.
- air conditioning
- new white rally gauges and an RPM gauge mounted on steering column. ( I feel the small center gauge location for RPM might be a little small)
- black paint job to go with replace black vinyl roof

thanks
It will be black. This is a link to one and I really like the look of it. http://davidsclassiccars.com/plymout...condition.html
My current dilemma is that I want an automatic tranny with overdrive and some people are telling me that the A500 or A518 might not be up to the task..... any thoughts on a tranny with overdrive that will marry up to the shifter console and require minimum cutting of tunnel?
