1974 Charger SE - First Mopar

Hello everyone. My name is Matthew. I'm addicted to cars.

This is my first Mopar. I thought about getting one when I was 16, but instead my dad convinced me to get a 74 Corvette Stingray. Looking back, either car would have been a mistake as I've had a total of 19 cars in the last 8 years.

I found the car on Craigslist.org sitting ina guys back yard. The car hasnt had tabs since 1988. And the odometer reads 21,xxx miles. I'm sure its rolled over at least once.

I dug into it yesterday. The engine had 3 stuck piston rings, the oil pump shaft was twisted, the Harmonic Balancer isnt balanced ( it rubs against the timing cover ).

Other then that, the body is decent ( if you dont mind field particles ). Once fender is a bit messed up, but the car convieniently came with a panel for that. I started this afternoon with the stripping of paint/bondo/adhesive.

The interior was taken out of the car before it was parked and stored in a garage, as was the engine.

I'm just posting here to say Hello. I'll be asking a lot of questions, and buying a lot of parts from people in the classified section.

Looks like you'll have your hands full with this car (probably just needs to be cleaned up some). looks like it's solid though.

The car has been cleaned up now, However, its minus some paint. I'm in the process of removing all the paint/Rust. The Trunk is rusted out. and a small amount of rust on the passenger rear quarter.
