1975 Plymouth Scamp Value
I wanted to hear an opinion on what would be the value of a 1975 Plymouth Scamp. I live in southern Ohio and I have seen this car sitting outside a garage for at least 5 years. The guy said it ran when he parked it but is now missing the alternator and distributor. It has only had one owner and it came stock with a 318 V8 but now has a 360 V8 and a 4 speed. The body is in rough shape but all the glass and trim is intact. All the floor pans are solid and so are the rocker panels, but the rear quarter panels are pretty much gone. The stock interior with a front bench seat is also still in the car but is rough. I would appreciate any feedback that helps me better understand what a good price would be for me to make a purchase.

Welcome!
Go over other parts of the car, torsion bar crossmemeber, truck floor (especially where the spare tire sits), radiator support, under side of the doors, all along the edges of the glass (look for rust/rot). The more you find, the more you can use to lower the price. Where the motor doesn't run and can't even be tried, that will lower the price right off the bat.
Also, look around your area and see what other vehicles in simular shape are going for, this will help give you an idea.
I'm with bremereric on this, start low. If this ia a car that you really want, make sure to tell the person "I don't want to insult you by any means, I'll offer you $___ because of ......" and list everything wrong with it that you have found. Who know, where it's been sitting for so long, they might just want to get rid of it.
