318 ??

I have a '56 Coronet with a small block V8 with a 3 speed stick trans. Will a '64 318 bolt to my bell housing?? I have very little experience with Mopars.
Thanks for any info you can give.

And the 318 is a poly correct? I'm going to jump off the deep end and say it won't mate up.

It is the 270 block. I can't , easily, count the valve cover bolts as the parts are locked in the trunk and I don't have a key, so it is going to be a task to get into the car. I can get a ;64 Belvedere with a 318 for hauling it home. It has a pretty good front clip and is a complete car with no title. Thanks for all replies. The '56 Dodge is a 60,000's mile car that has set since the mid '60's because of cracked heads and was sold several years ago at an estate sale. I have owned it for over 10 years and it is setting in my barn. I might just as well sell the car.

It's a solid car for the most part, it has been setting since the mid 60's. But it needs everything.

It can be daunting to think about a car that needs everything. but it is a very cool car! I just got done with a 4 year project that needed everything, and looking back on it, it was worth it.

I don't know anything about what a poly motor is. I have always been a Ford person and have several at this time, but this Dodge will make a beautiful car and it was a deal I couldn't refuse. Thanks for the nice welcome and all the remarks.
