440

I bought a duster with a 440 in it. On the block it shows 440-E and I'm not sure what the E stands for.

It also shows 44-3 and I'm not sure what the 3 stands for. I can pretty much figure out what the rest stands for like the date and that it's an RB block.

Thanks

Thanks, I saw that page also and was a little confused. looks like by a couple sources it means Cast Crank. The 6T 440 E I believe means 76 Trenton plant 440.

the 440-3 is the mold info. The molds are reusable but need repair from time to time. It means 3 parts of the mold have been replaced during it's life. I think the numbers go up to 8 before the mold is replaced ?
