72 Duster
I have a 72 plymouth Duster, when the time comes i want to race it at the local drag strip in Manassas, VA. It is a stock slant 6. I want to know what is the best engine to put in it. How big can I go. Money is not really a problem. what would I have to change in the car to support a V8.

First of all welcome to the forum.....
If i had your situation as you explained it I would go all the way and put a BIG HONKING HEMI in that Duster... You will also want a Dana 60 rear and probably a 727 tranny.. New HD suspension with coil over shocks and a 4 link in the rear.... But that is a VERY large budget......
While on here be sure to check out the Mopar of the Month contest.. See the sticky for the simple rules and then you can help choose the monthly winners......

Drag strip in Manassas??? Never knew it was there. and all that time I spent fourwheelin' on the back trails at Quantico... Put a nice 360 in that A and go drive the wheels off it!

Welcome!

Is this going to be a full blown drag racer only that you will trailer or do you want to drive it on the street too?
If money is no object, then I would go with a stroked BB, fuel injected, and super charged. Try and build a tranny to handle that kind of power, a rear end with cryo treated gears and 300M shafts, 4-link rear, frame stiffners/re-enforcements and a roll cage.
If you want it streetable, then I would throw in a healthy 440, 727, D60 rear, 4-link rear suspension, upgrade the front suspension and install a cage.
