The D-series is a 2wd truck, while the W-series is a 4wd truck.

The truck will have a 360 small block or a diesel in it. If it is the diesel, it will be the 12V 5.9 cummings.

As for the rear, did you try spinning the tires with the rear axle lifted up and the tranny and t-case (if it is a W350) in neutral? (dumb I know, just asking though) If you did and they still did not spin, then I would pull the tires off and start working on the breaks that way. There could be a huge build up of rust and material on the edge of the rim that will keep the drums from coming off. The shoes and hardware could be broken causing the tires to not spin. The e-brake couls also be frozen on.

look into summit racing for rebuild kits and reman carbs. For body panels, look at Autobody Specialists in Conn. They have a lot of stuff for dodge trucks. For the motor, it is an LA so from the late 60s til about 93 or so, they are all the same (intakes, cams, heads are the same). headers should be easy to find as most the the D-series should all fit one another.

Ebay is another great place to get parts for these trucks somewhat cheap.

Another forum that is good for dodge trucks is ramchargerforum.com (I think that is what it is). there are a lot of guys on there that know a lot about the trucks.

You'll need to find another duelly for the rear axle. That body style is 82-85. there were some small changed in 86 and then again in 90-93 i think.

Good Luck on the build, sorry for the mis information earlier, Whenever I needed parts for my 87 i could get parts from like an 81-89, everything was pretty much interchangable however that was for a non-dually Ram 150.

a lot of the drivetrain parts are the same for the LA motors and 727 trannies and even the axles (depending on the spline counts). it is the body lines that changed over the years.

The point of the link wasn't so that you would buy from them, just to show you what your options are out there.

No Accessory lights and no start

I bought this 1985 D350 gasser with a 4 speed manual about a month ago was working on it one day and it wouldn’t start so I found a bad wire and fixed it got it started and was driving. Got a little bit down the road and it made a weird noise and just died. Now I turn the key and no lights come on and won’t even crank. I just replaced the starter switch thinking that would help but it doesn’t and I’ve also changed all the fuses.
