85 dodge d350
im going to buy a 85 dodge d350 or maybe its a w350 whats thedifference any way? This trucks a dully the back tires wont roll i think the brakes are froze/locked up i hope its just the brakes and the starter just clicks tried hitting on it. The tags and sticker are from 2003 so its been sitting for a while or at least not on the road. Im going to put a starter on it and try to back the brakes of with the adjuster if that dont work im going to try to beat the drums off with a hamer. Any one have any tips on unlocking the brakes and putting the starter on or any thing to say about the 85 dodge 1 ton or pics?

The D-series is a 2wd truck, while the W-series is a 4wd truck.
The truck will have a 360 small block or a diesel in it. If it is the diesel, it will be the 12V 5.9 cummings.
As for the rear, did you try spinning the tires with the rear axle lifted up and the tranny and t-case (if it is a W350) in neutral? (dumb I know, just asking though) If you did and they still did not spin, then I would pull the tires off and start working on the breaks that way. There could be a huge build up of rust and material on the edge of the rim that will keep the drums from coming off. The shoes and hardware could be broken causing the tires to not spin. The e-brake couls also be frozen on.

ok its a d350 2wd with a 360 in it. this is my first dodge where do you guys get parts and stuff? i cant find as much info or as many parts for dodge as i can chevy and ford. i need too price some parts i think that 360 may be worth rebuilding and for now i bet i'll need a carb rebuild. i dont see many parts on jeggs or PAW sites like that. what years are interchangable or the same as 85. body and or other parts like drive train and a/c parts? what uther forums or sites would be good for me? i want to restor this truck

look into summit racing for rebuild kits and reman carbs. For body panels, look at Autobody Specialists in Conn. They have a lot of stuff for dodge trucks. For the motor, it is an LA so from the late 60s til about 93 or so, they are all the same (intakes, cams, heads are the same). headers should be easy to find as most the the D-series should all fit one another.
Ebay is another great place to get parts for these trucks somewhat cheap.

Another forum that is good for dodge trucks is ramchargerforum.com (I think that is what it is). there are a lot of guys on there that know a lot about the trucks.

Good Luck on the build, sorry for the mis information earlier, Whenever I needed parts for my 87 i could get parts from like an 81-89, everything was pretty much interchangable however that was for a non-dually Ram 150.

a lot of the drivetrain parts are the same for the LA motors and 727 trannies and even the axles (depending on the spline counts). it is the body lines that changed over the years.

No Accessory lights and no start
I bought this 1985 D350 gasser with a 4 speed manual about a month ago was working on it one day and it wouldn’t start so I found a bad wire and fixed it got it started and was driving. Got a little bit down the road and it made a weird noise and just died. Now I turn the key and no lights come on and won’t even crank. I just replaced the starter switch thinking that would help but it doesn’t and I’ve also changed all the fuses.
