Hey all
I picked this one up last week and trying to find a little more info on it.I believe its a 37-38 Plymouth 5 window businessmens coupe.
vin on door reads 9348392
tag on firewall
model 42cp
body no 678 or 673
paint code 580
cannot read trim code right now
It has all its original running gear, motor turns over by hand but starter had been removed and was in trunk.Trans shifts freely, clutch works, rolls freely. It had been in a shed for the last 20 years. The interior seats are shot although the front uppers are amazingly intact and in good shape.Gauges are all there, window crank still works. This one will probably be a hot rod with dodge power, maybe a big block/727 combo if room permits. Not sure on the history of the car,it has some extra holes in the d.s roof for a spotlight and a couple holes on the ds cowl for some sort of mount. The dark blue color has me thinking poss ex police car but just guessing.Somewhere along the way I will have to massage the ps fenders back to straight or find replacemets but all in all not a bad starting point.

What a sweet car! That car is going to look amazing.
When I first saw it I thought "Mafia".
Did you find a "Chicago Typewriter" in the trunk? LOL

no such luck i'm afraid.the inside was full of junk, extension cords, electrical wire, old jackets, the wood remains of the old backseat and trunk divider.About the coolest thing was a big pirate flag,no gold bars or dubloons, cheap pirates.and an old mcleods store catalogue dated 1959.The original hubcaps and starter were in the trunk.Speaking of mafia, did anyone notice the only bullet hole in the whole car is dead center in the windshield, and no exit hole?Funny enough all the seats werepretty much destroyed except for the front upper which are in really decent shape, even the dark brown vinyl backs are untorn and still shiny.

Welcome, boy look at the prices in that catalog with todays money and those prices what a wonderful world it would be... That is a little strange no exit from the bullit hole. Be careful if the radio start playing 30s 40s &50s music and the lights and stuff come on get rid of it. Lol
