fuel delivery question, help...? (360 engine)
hi, im new in this forum, i have a 74 charger with a 360 on it, and i am in the process of swaping in two holley 450cfm carburetors, but i want to know if i could use a mechanical fuel pump (if so, what part number) that you would recommend me to supply both carburetors.
Thank's hope someone can help me out.

by ALL means toss the mech fuel pump. in the past i have used carter elec fuel pump for up to 400 hp. and i think you can get bigger pumps than i used. but why holleys? the old street hemi used 2 carter AFBs. IMHO the AFB is very stable and less trouble on the street than holleys.

Street car.or Cruiser.. You might get way with it..... Try to find something with at least a 3/8 n.p.t inlet and outlet.... Step up the fuel feed line to 3/8 line.... Pump will need to be about 6.5 psi....
If you cant find that you will need to go electric...

Engine Specs.
Reinforced Springs, it used to have a 750 demon carburetor.
Is it possible to make it work with a mechanical pump, i mean the idea is to make it a weekend drive car and every now and then take it to the track an burn some, but mostly street driven.

some of the engine's upgrades are Keith Black Piston, Molly Piston Rings, Stock but work heads, Roller rockers, CompCams cam,

What do you say, you think i can go with a mechanical pump if so, do you recommend me a specific model.

You can try the carter Hi Perf. Fuel pump......http://www.summitracing.com/parts/cr...FVBffgod5LMAcQ
I just dont like that it has 1/4 fittings myself.....
But go with it.. Could be enough? only one way to find out....
If the carbs have not been gone threw and still have the small needles and seats, then you should not have any problems with it. But other than that it's a crap shoot.

A high volume Holley mechanical fuel pump will be more than enough.
It's one less hassle to worry about.
So you want to run 900 CFM on a street 360?
Kinda hard to make a call wothout knowing the compression, cam specs and HP expectations.
There's really no benefit and more of a hassle than a single 4V Holley, except for an initial "wow" factor.

Welcome to the forum
the 450's LIST # 9776 are mech. sec. but single pump,
They will not work on the street,
They are only for leaving the line @ 3000 RPM or more.
If you go with 2 holleys for the street go with 2 0-8007 390 CFM vacuum sec.
You can use a Holley mech. fuel pump 12-360-11 if you are not over 450 HP,
Thanks
