Hello all

Just retired from the Army in January, I have got everything done around the house so I am getting ready to start a project vehicle. I am not a mechanic but have some experience with working on vehicles. I have 2 good friends that both own garages. So I have plenty of help if needed. One is a die-hard Mopar guy. He has no less than 10 dodge vehicles. I look forward to learning a lot as I work on this truck. I will be asking a lot of questions. I will try not to ask many dumb ones. My project is a 83 W150. Plan is to make it in to a hunting rig that I can take to the mountain.

I thought about a deuce the problem is I hate driving them. I had a bad / now funny experience when I was a young private. Hated driving them ever since. I would like to have a M37. A buddy of mine has one and it is a beast.

Thanks for all the replies. I look forward to picking everyone's brain during this project. I went yesterday and finalized getting the truck. It is an 82 W150 not an 83. It didn't cost me a lot. A few of us still do some horse trading. I went for a drive with it yesterday, no major issues. Only a little rust above rear wheels didn't see any other rust. After crawling all over and under the truck looking for issues. The only other things I saw was a cracked headlight bezel, missing power ram emblem and parking brake cable broke. The interior is almost perfect. It will be a good family project. My wife and 11 yr old son is just as excited as I am. I will post some pictures next week. My first order of business is a good engine cleaning.
