Hello from Prescott Az!!!

Hey everybody,

I found this forum and decided to join.

I've got a 1965 Plymouth Belvedere 1 Sedan with a 318 and 904 (From a 78 Magnum). It came with a 273 and 3 speed (Still have the engine). I have owned this car a grand total of 2 weeks. I traded 2 motorcycles for it. It runs and drives I'm just working out some of the kinks.

I don't know yet.

The only reason why it was pulled is that it was burning oil (about 1.5 qts per 100mi) and it wasnt smoking or fouling the plugs.

Its complete from airbox to oil pan--but minus exhaust and accessories.

huh, its probably just some leaking gaskets then, unless the blocks cracked

Thats what I was thinking.

I don't have an engine stand so I wont open it up just yet.

Really? why?

There is a guy that is local that has a 440 and 727 for 250 out of a motorhome. He says that both work fine.

without zinc, the lobes of the cam get destruyed with the lifters
then that metal gets flung through the engine, scratching the berings
it already happened to me

ahh ok.

Is it ok to run seafoam in them?

The 318 has a sludge problem.

I started to pull apart the 273. Its got a bad main seal.

not sure about the sea form
maybe you can help me out with something
i dont know if your block has it, but is there another seal behind the rear main seal on the block your fixing?

Ok.

I pulled the heads off and 3 of 8 cylinders were rusty. Everything rotates though.

I'm planning to get a 360 with a supercharger, fuel injection, and serpentine belt with A/C.

I'm not too happy with an automatic. I'm planning to find a manual and swap it in.
