hi everyone, new guy here

Hi Rick,
Welcome to the forum! I, personally, am not real familiar with the later model Chryslers with any computers but, this site is very straight forward and I am sure that someone else will chime in with some good information and a possible direction for you to look, as you are correct, there is quite a bit of knowledge here.
The best thing for you to do is to tell us what the car has for a drivetrain, what the car is doing that makes you feel that way and we love pictures!
Rick

Welcome Rick...that 89 has that crap lean burn computer on the side of the air cleaner. Two ways you approach it. MSD has a Ready to run distributor that you can buy and install. This is very easy to do. Otherwise you can get a 70's style electronic ignition system that consist of and ECU, distributor and wiring harness. This is availiable at Summit racing and Mopar Performance make the ECU kit.
