A Jeep is truly an expensive relationship...
… but we GOTTA love ‘em! I own a 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee and my wife has the snazzed-up 2014 Wrangler (that I have to do all the work on). I’m trying to get mine fixed up enough to sell her, but I’ve come across a problem with the WIN (Wireless Ignition Nodule). She’s No-Crank and definitely No-Start. Dash lights come on but when I turn the key, the radio shuts off and my engine light will blink for ten seconds, then burn steady until I turn the key again. One of my mechanic friends worked with the wiring and in by-passing the ignition, my Jeep would start.
HERE'S my question. As a replacement WIN costs almost $1000.00, is it possible to install a ‘standard metal-key’ switch/ignition assembly where the old switch was? (See images) I don’t care about the remote locks, just so long as she’ll start.
Thanks in advance!
