Just Signed Up
Hey everyone im Mike. I have 1973 plymouth satellite sebring. Some day I plan on cloning it into a road runner. It has a 318 v8. It was my first car so I was really excited until I found more rust than I can handle. Since Im a money strapped college student I plan on trying to do most of the work myself but I have no formal training. I only plan on putting around $5,000 into the car and having fun with it while learning as much as I can along the way. My old man has a 1966 Chrysler Imperial Conv and got me hooked on old cars. I love mopars. Any pointers from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum mike!
If you want to make the car into a clone, I suggest saving up your money and start collecting what you need now, while the economy is down and people are giving stuff away.
Rust is very intimadating if there is a lot of it and you haven't had much experience making it go away. Just take your time and tackle what you know you can handle. There are plenty of how-to books for body work, as well as some of us on here.

Hey Welcome Mike and glad you came to the forums, you will enjoy the time here and im sure you will have alot of questions that we should be able to answer and as far as the body work goes dont let it get to you you just need to slow down a notch when doing the work as it takes more time then wrenching to get it right but you will be able to do it yourself and save alot of money at the same time and like 78 says to clone you should start getting what you need to do it now ,, and where are you located at which state ??
and 3x on the pics as we like pics

As you can see all the rust is on the lower quarters and rockers. There is significant rust on the fenders but i bought replacement fenders. The floor pan was non existent so i welded some scrap 18 gauge sheet metal in and filled on the rest of the small holes with foam insulation and covered it with rubberized undercoating. I was almost considering just bondoing the quarters and rockers for a quick fix. Im not looking to make this a show car just something I can learn and have fun with.
