Hi everyone, I am new here & look forward to talking & checking out all the cars here. I am 56 years old & live in NW Indiana. I love old cars & truck. I am offically a car nut LOL.
I bought a 1965 dodge Polara 2 dr ht 383 4 Bbl. last summer. Its a barn find from the guy i bought it from. It has 106,00 miles on it, & had been sitting 1971. I had to do a lot of work to it. The car was running but not very well. I got it home found radiator plugged up, flush it I could'nt tell you how many times. I put another radiator in it, replaced the Carb. Fixed the linkage on Carb & kick down was all wrong. I got the car running good & ran it about 2 weeks & started running hot. Found my new radiator was plugged again. There went 200.00, took it to shop & said it was history. Flushed this engine out again & still was full of crap, I used everything i could think of cleaning this thing out. i bought another radiator & finally got things squared away & running 180*. the car has 50 Lbs. of oil pressure when you crank it up. the car is running great now.
I have done up grades on it added a Tach, auto meter gauges, after market electronic ignition, 6AL box,Taylor wire, billet looms, aluminum valve cover & air cleaner.
I have every thing to go thru top half of engine this winter. I have cam, roller rockers, push rods, lifters, double roller timing chain, dual quad intake & eldebrock carbs,& going to have the heads reworked.
The body on its not to bad. It has a few dents here & there. The rear lower quarters need to be replaced & i have bought after market ones for it already. The body works is going to have to wait for awhile. but it looks just fine to me.
I have 2 other hot rods. A 1964 Chevy Trk SWB Step side slammed with a 427 dual quad tunnel ram & 5-speed. My other car is a 1977 chevy vega wagon with a small block.
